Chaplet of St. Raphael

The name Raphael comes from the Hebrew rapha (to heal) and El (God). Thus, the name means "God heals" or the "Divine Healer." Raphael is one of the seven archangels who stand before God. Catholic tradition assigns to St Raphael the mission to assist and protect travelers, to cure men's ills, to arrange happy meetings, and to protect family life.

How to pray the St Raphael Chaplet

       1) On the St Raphael Medal Say: "You are Raphael the healer,You are Raphael the guide, You are Raphael the Companion, Ever at human sorrow's side."

       2) On the next three beads say one Hail Mary each in honor of Mary as Queen of Angels.

       3) The following prayer of praise is said on each of the nine beads to honor the nine angelic choirs: "Holy, holy, holy Lord, God of Hosts. Heaven and earth are full of Your Glory! Glory be to the Father; Glory be to the Son; Glory be to the Holy Spirit." (The nine angelic choirs are: Angels, Archangels, Principalities, Powers, Virtues, Dominions, Thrones, Cherubim, and Seraphim).

       4) The chaplet is concluded with the prayer: "Raphael, angel of health, angel of love, angel of light, pray for us."
